In The Streets

Last weekend I went to the Crossroads Music Festival in Kansas City , Missouri and was pleasantly surprised by all the great groups they had featured. I couldn't stop dancing, the music from each band was great. The 16 piece band 'Hearts of Darkness" killed it, the drums, the horn section wow, they were definitely trying to get their James Brown groove on. Then I saw the band "The Goodfoots" now this group I was very impressed with especially their lead singer Julia, let me tell you this girl can sing, all you record executes out there need to check her out. Last but certainly not least was the group "Quixotic", they were on some cirque de soleil /trance/Irish folk music combination, very good and quite refreshing, I highly recommend peeping them out whenever they are performing. Here are some highlights, from the festival, hope you enjoy.

Metropalife Travels: Ghana

As some of you know, Metropalife went on an amazing trip to Ghana recently. It was an experience of a lifetime. We saw so many things, met so many people, ate different foods, learned a lot about Ghanian culture, and little more about ourselves. We wanted to share some of our adventures with you, in our travel series called "Metropalife Travels". In this episode you will see us traveling through an ancient rainforest, walking tightropes, eating "Banku" off the street, an interview with Reggae Superstar Blakk Rasta, and drinking coffee out of a plastic bag!! I hope you all enjoy the show.

Stumble Upon Goodness

Last night I was up late working online and ran into the movie "The Beach" with Leonardo DiCaprio. This is such a great movie, I have watched this movie over and over again. From the get go it spoke to me, its a movie about traveling to an exotic destination, smoking copious amounts of herbs, and living on a beach with a hippie community. I have to say this movie sparked the travel bug in me, I wanted to see tropical places and have amazing adventures.
Now of course its not all paradise, there are some crazy twists of fate in this movie, which you will just have to see if you haven't seen this film. Don't want to ruin it for anyone.  If you haven't seen this movie I highly recommend it, if you have then you already know its a dope movie. Here is the link to the movie via MegaVideo I hope you enjoy

Congrats to The Dream on getting promoted to such a high position at Island Def Jam. Its so crazy to me, I remember being at his first listening party as an intern at Def Jam and now he is Executive Vice President. It just goes to so if you stay on your grind, keep in contact with the right people, anything can happen.
