This week's Way Back Play Back Movie is a documentary about a group of regular guys who happen to have a Heavy Metal band in war torn Baghdad. If you think you have problems and difficulties making music, getting gigs, or performing for your fans. It pails in comparison to what the Iraqi group Acrassicuada have to go through everyday. Imagine having to carry a gun to your gigs for protection, city curfews, military check points, bomb threats, and missiles flying overhead. They endure it all for the love of heavy metal music and their freedom of expression. This is a very interesting documentary, that I recommend to any music lover and anyone who believes in the strength of the human spirit.

Tonight's Way Back Playback movie is "Hendrix" based on yes, you guess it the amazing Jimi Hendrix. This film is a made for TV movie that gives a general depiction of Jimi's life, his rise to fame and then his unfortunate early death. The movie is good in giving a general understanding of the music career of Jimi Hendrix. On another note for all the Hendrix fans out there you might be slightly disappointed in the guitar playing scenes ,they don't play any of Hendrix"s original music! Either they didn't have the rights or didn't have the budget to get the rights. They do play however, "Hey Joe", "Foxy Lady", "All Along the Watchtower" and a few others though these weren't his original compositions. All in all I think that the film is a great starting point in getting to know more about Jimi Hendrix and his short but unforgettable music career. Check it out and enjoy.
